WHAT IS XALYDO?
Xalydo is a home-grown brand which designs and manufactures furniture in India. We provide a possibility of customisation which allows each person to express their personalities in their respective spaces.
STORY OF CHI
– Inspired by the Greek key patterns and the 22nd letter of the Greek alphabet , “x or chi” (pronounced just like the English “key”) was chosen to create unique patterns and designs.
– In Vaastu Shastra and Feng Shui, “prana” equivalent to “chi” or “qi” is a vital force or vital energy whose flow is necessary for well-being. These are guiding principles in our spatial layout decisions, in which we consider the customer’s lifestyle and the existing space and fill it with positive energy by modifying the spread and movement inside it.
– In Mathematics, “chi” is used to describe the way a structure is bent (algebraic topology and polyhedral combinatorics: Euler characteristic). We use Euler’s geometry to design structures.
– From English language, “chi” represents symmetrical patterns in ancient literature (Chiastic structure, or chiastic pattern).

– The kaleidoscope is a scientific and artistic instrument which produces infinite designs using a few colorful pieces.
– This idea has been translated into Xalydo (pronounced as the English “kaleido”) in which existing materials are used to create infinite design.

– Poetry meets engineering
– A childhood passion in sculpture, dance and photography led to her own style in design. An education in chemical engineering gave the necessary technology and a keen sense in materials to produce furniture in a unique way. Her purpose is to push the limits of furniture to something ergonomic, beautiful, sustainable and fun. She dreams design in fluidity. Her inspiration lies in everything around her including rockets, molecules and everyday objects. She wanted to create products which could make life easier and better every day.
– This vision is translated in Xalydo, a company and brand full of freshness and a new pattern to live.
